Dr. Rian is a GEM in the New Orleans area. Energetically, I feel so safe and physically understood. The way Dr. Rian works around the body shows a different level of understanding and attunement.
Rian don't just stick you with needles. She takes the to really get a feel of what you knead. The mixture of Acupuncturist & Bodywork is awesOMe. I also received cupping. The pressure was just right to allow Movement to pull the toxins. The room is clean and welcoming, you can feel the cleansing of the sage.
Love seeing Dr. RIAN, it's like working with a shaman...we talk through what's going on in my life..then we go to the table and do a combination of acupuncture, cupping and massage that feels magical...she has been a staple in my ongoing journey to take better care of myself! My first visit to Dr. Rian Bush was in January 2021. I went for debilitating pain in my left foot which I was still experiencing 4 months after a shingles diagnosis. Prior to shingles I had a daily walking habit of 5 miles but post shingle I could not walk one.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
