I had the privilege of having the best massage of my life with Maria at Sacred Space Massage. My initial impression was of the environment, she created a great space that she made so relaxing and peaceful with her aroma therapy and zen sounds.
I recently visited Sacred Space Massage Therapy for a full body massage with cupping, and I can honestly say it was one of the best therapeutic experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in the atmosphere was calming and soothing.
So; may I begin with WOW; this is a hidden gem in Watsonville!!! My experience with several massage shops has been a "meh" kind of review from me. One, I believe a massage shop should be clean, no carpet throughout. Two, it should have a soft aroma, uncluttered and have enough light to feel inviting.
I recently had my first Swedish massage with Maria and it was such a great experience! From the moment I walked in, she made me feel welcome and comfortable. Since it was my first massage, I wasn’t too sure what to expect, but she explained everything beforehand.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
