From the reviews
"I was delighted to learn that Hijama services were available that weekend. My experience was outstanding. The facility maintained impeccable hygiene standards, and Brother Dawud demonstrated exceptional expertise and confidence throughout the procedure. The entire process was seamless and efficient.
What a gem of a find. “Hijama” is aka wet cupping, my first time and boy am I glad I did it. My back feels so much lighter and the procedure itself was not painful at all. Very relaxing and soothing. Darrin was great and very informative.
I had an amazing hijama experience with Roots. This was my first time trying it so I was a bit hesitant. But Dawud made me feel very comfortable. He explained everything in detail before and during the cupping process. He spent time going over the physical and spiritual benefits of hijama and answered all questions.
If you're a sister looking for hijama, look no rurther! Sister Anam takes her time and is very caring. The room is calming and very hygienic. She is very knowledgeable and patient and was able to help me understand the whole process.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Roots Hijama Therapy
Roots Hijama Therapy comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
