Do yourself a favor and book a massage ASAP. Not only did I have an AMAZING massage (shoutout to Cassidy Hull LMT), but the staff was so kind. I had thought my appointment was an hour after it was actually scheduled, which was completely my fault.
I walked in feeling nervous about my massage as it's been a minute since I've had one. The front desk did a wonderful job of leading me to all the important places (restroom, refreshments, etc.). After a short wait, my massage therapist came out and got me.
My session was wonderful, I walked in tense, sore and undying much need of relief. I floated out of riversong feeling revived, rejuvenated, and relaxed my therapist was wonderful hitting those knots in my body and massaging them out. Hats off to Riversong
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
