From the reviews

When I started working with Jeff, at Ripple, I was in constant chronic pain from my right side abdomen down through my hip and extending to my calf. It was incredibly difficult to walk much less get through my 12 hour nursing shifts. My quality of life was reduced to work and recover each week.

I have been going to Ripple for years for massage and yoga, and most recently for accupuncture, and Ripple is what we can only wish our western medical care looked like. First and foremost, the practitioners are super knowledgeable, competent, patient, and caring.

I've been going to Ripple Wellness for 3 years now and have been so happy with every level of service I've received. I see Dr. Cocks for general health maintenance and I'm always impressed with her genuine interest and care for me.

For almost a year I have been receiving accupuncture treatments at Ripple Wellness in Washougal. I continue to be under the care of both Melanie Budlong and Kate Sydney, both of whom are EXCELLENT.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
