For almost a year I have been receiving accupuncture treatments at Ripple Wellness in Washougal. I continue to be under the care of both Melanie Budlong and Kate Sydney, both of whom are EXCELLENT.
I bought a gift card for my wife for Valentines day, the quickest she could get an appointment from Ripple was August, so she didn't make an appointment. We then got pregnant and forgot about the certificate. We found it recently and when she went to redeem it, they said it was only good for one year!
At 68 years old, today I had my first ever Yoga session. My goal is to simply increase mobility and reduce pain after a 10 month bout with long Covid and the accompanying muscle atrophy. Emily was my instructor and did a wonderful job of explaining each activity and why it’s done.
I am forever grateful I called Ripple Wellness. In the spring of 2022 I caught my foot on a pallet jack fork pulled it out only to catch it on the second fork. When I pulled it out I propelled myself into the air my right knee hit the floor 2 bays away, I bounced into the air.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
