From the reviews
This review is highly overdue. A few months back, I did a workout and I somehow triggered my sciatica on both sides. I haven’t had sciatic pain since I was pregnant. I thought I could Theragun my way out of this but nothing I did at home would work. I finally decided that I needed to see someone.
Since the first-day meeting with Greg, I have only had positive experiences. Before my treatments with him, I had seen other acupuncturists and none have been as thorough as his. He has been treating me for my neck and entire back after an auto collision where I was rear-ended.
“This was my second time seeing Greg Maruki for acupuncture, and I couldn’t be more impressed. He begins with a deep pressure massage before the acupuncture, which really helps to prepare the body. I came in with a lot of pain, and after just the first appointment, most of it was gone!
I’ve been seeing Greg for years! He has a heart of gold and does everything in his power to always help me manage my pain. His acupuncture and acupressure techniques are spot on! He takes the time to educate me on the reasons why certain things happen or what he’s working on.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Quality Acupuncture Inc
Quality Acupuncture Inc comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — ask whether that can be arranged. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
