From the reviews
I discovered Dr. Wensi at Pure Point Acupuncture as a recommendation and from the moment I read her philosophy on her website, I knew she’d be ideal to assist me through my mind-body-soul healing.
I tried acupuncture with Dr. Wensi Xu and I had a great experience as a first timer. She explained everything to me in a very clear manner. She was also kind and friendly. Dr. Wensi Xu really took her time to talk with me about my health issues as well as my treatment options.
Dr. Wensi Xu is absolutely amazing! I’ve been singing her praises since I first saw her in July! I’ve never really wanted to try Acupuncture, but I’ve had several of my doctors recommend it so I finally decided to give it a try. Dr. Wensi is very personable and she clearly explains to you what she’s doing.
Today was my second appointment with Dr. Wensi Xu, and I can hardly wait for the next one! As others have mentioned, her initial evaluation is extraordinarily thorough, and she identifies the issues that your body is telling her about.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
