From the reviews
Courtney and the entire team at Point Prescription have been absolute lifesavers for me over the past few years. I deal with chronic health issues and a high-stress job, both of which can really take a toll, and having them as part of my routine has made such a difference.
Not to be dramatic, but Point Prescription (Courtney in particular) has changed my life. Before 2021, I'd never had acupuncture or cupping done but had heard great things.
Courtney has cultivated such a peaceful and healing space! She has guided me through multiple health concerns over the past few years - She's grounded in her approach and listens to you so she can individualize your treatment just for you. She creatively uses her craft to address your specific needs.
I can't say enough positive things about Courtney and Point Prescription! She is attentive, calming, and knowledgeable. The combination of acupuncture and cupping has helped me in ways I never would have expected.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
