From the reviews
From the start to the finish of my visit I received excellent service. My insurance was thoroughly checked and my copay identified up front. My copay was rather a lot.
I am working with Traci. Liz handled my first appointment. They are awesome - and the whole group works well together - other PTs, PT assistants, and the front desk. I am getting stronger and my pain is not as acute. The facility is quiet as everyone speaks softly and respects each other.
I have been working with Liz, a Physical Therapist at this location. (I’m Paula. The name above is my sister’s, not mine!) Liz is caring, gentle, experienced, and extremely knowledgeable about what she does. She made me feel right at home while I was getting PT for a shoulder injury.
Wonderful staff who work well as a team! The pain from a herniated disc, and a referral from a friend led me to the New London location of PTSMC. It’s a busy, upbeat, positive place. I loved my PT Caitlin, not only did she provide me with helpful exercises, but everyday tips for alleviating pain at home.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
