Booking your cupping session

  • Session price around $68 a session — confirm current pricing and whether cupping is standalone or added to a massage/acupuncture visit
  • Payment reportedly accepts insurance — verify coverage before your visit, since cupping is often billed under manual therapy or acupuncture

From the reviews

I am walking normally and without pain... a gift I am grateful for. I had a total knee replacement a huge investment of worry, money, pain/discomfort and time. After surgery and three months of physical therapy I was not in a great spot and enjoying anything like normal knee function.

★★★★★ — Andrew, Nov 2021

I cannot recommend Brian at Peak Performance therapy and wellness highly enough. I am working with Brian for vertigo and its ongoing persistent symptoms. He is knowledgeable, competent, professional and patient.

★★★★★ — Anne, Sep 2024

I would highly recommend Peak Performance, especially to anyone considering physical therapy for a sports related injury. I went to Brian after having trouble recovering from a sprained knee and was surprised how quickly he was able to identify the issue.

★★★★★ — Andrew, Aug 2018

After a sudden back injury last week, the day before I was leaving to go on vacation, amazingly Brian squeezed me in at the end of his long day. As a new patient, the fact that he went out of his way to do that just in order to help me, was incredible!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
