From the reviews

I’ve been having massages with Shane for a few months now and I always leave super relaxed and feeling great! Recently my back was very sore so I made an appointment and she fixed it right up and I feel so much better.

I feel like a million bucks after getting a cupping session and massage from Danae! My shoulders, lower back, and traps were really tight from both sitting at the computer typing all day and weight lifting. After one quick trip Danae made me feel much better and my muscles are nice and loose again.

I have been going to Jill Suess at Peak Performance for acupuncture for over two years. She is fantastic and I come out feeling soooo relaxed and calm each time. Regular acupuncture is now part of my preventative health routine and a self care must. Jill is also a great masseuse and does cupping as well.

Shane is THE BEST massage therapist I have been to. I have never found one I like enough to schedule with consistently, but now I have been seeing Shane on a consistent basis for over a year. She is especially great if you have problem areas that need working on.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
