From the reviews
I started seeing Dr. Li Chen in mid June of this year to help treat lower back pain that is reoccurring from an injury. I had no trouble scheduling an appointment online and was able to get in somewhat fast.
My experience with Peaceful Sky Acupuncture began after I injured my shoulder in March. By August, my sports medicine doctor diagnosed me with a slight rotator-cuff tear, shoulder impingement syndrome, and bursitis. He recommended physical therapy as a starting point, so I started my first session in early September.
My wife and I see both Dr. Li Chen and Domnica Martushev for acupuncture and massage at Peaceful Sky. We could not be more thankful for both Li and Domnica. Li is so kind, welcoming, and amazing at what she does. She listens carefully and diagnoses our symptoms with care and great attention to detail.
I remember the first time I came to Peaceful Sky I was so sick. As the name suggests, this place is peaceful, very clean and well equipped with standard medical equipment. Dr. Li did the necessary tests and helped me get back to health. Dr. Li. is an excellent doctor. On top of that, she has got a good sense of humor.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Peaceful Sky Acupuncture & Massage Clinic
Peaceful Sky Acupuncture & Massage Clinic comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — ask whether that can be arranged. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
