From the reviews

I am so thankful that I found Dr. Ray. I came to him with a shoulder injury that had been bothering me for 6+ months. Not only did the pain completely go away within a few visits, he also gave me advice on other ways to change my daily habits to help my shoulder and overall wellbeing.

Since becoming a patient of Dr. Ray, I am getting back to being me. As a health professional, I have recommended acupuncture to so many patients over the years who have found it to be of tremendous benefit in their healing journey. Finally, after I retired, I decided that it was time for me to follow my own advice.

★★★★★ — Sally, Sep 2024

I went to see Dr. Ray after a sports-related injury to my hip and thigh, and I had a great experience from start to finish. He completed a very thorough intake and took the time to clearly explain both the treatment plan and the expected timeline for recovery.

Dr. Rui (Ray) acupuncture services are absolutely phenomenal. I always feel better after treatments. And after continued treatments I started gaining more ability to use my legs to walk. 2 months ago I was walking with a cane. Now I do not need a cane and I'm able to go up and downstairs without a major problem.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
