From the reviews

I started seeing Dr. Kim in August for a torn labrum. No only has the pain and range of motion improved considerably, he has treated me for other pain as well. Dr. Kim is patient, knowledgeable, professional and kind. He truly believes in healing and does so with expertise and compassion.

★★★★★ — Deb, Dec 2024

I can get quite anxious during acupuncture. Alex Kim is the most patient practitioner I've worked with. He does everything he can to make me comfortable. I highly recommend him more than any acupuncturists that I have worked with.

★★★★★ — Abigail, Apr 2025

My experience at Orangetown Acupuncture has been extremely satisfying. This clinic feels like a home..clean and spacious with excellent facilities and to top it off, Dr. Kim is awesome. He is gentle, very knowledgeable, and a great listener.

★★★★★ — Donghwan, Nov 2022

I started seeing Dr. Kim for acupuncture in March of 2024 after getting a recommendation from a friend. I’ve received acupuncture for a few years but I’d never experienced the style Dr. Kim practices. He has helped me with so many of my chronic pain issues and my posture has improved because of his treatments.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
