I've been an acupuncture patient at Olson Acupuncture Group for 12½ years, and recently tried a 30 minute cupping session with Ingrid Bloom. Having had only brief exposure to cupping in my acupuncture sessions, I wasn't sure quite what to expect.
I highly recommend Ingrid Bloom. I read her profile and her background and training fit what I was looking for. She has helped me regain the use of my hands as my neuropathy has quieted down. She is helping me with digestion issues, and using tuning forks and vibration to help me balance my energy.
This place is the best!! I've had dry skin and acne problems for years and tried every treatment/remedy out there. Tried nutrition response testing and in just a few months my skin is almost completely healed! This is the clearest skin I have had in years and I feel super healthy too.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
