What clients say about the cupping here
“After chronic pain, two nerve blocks that did not help, and physical therapy, it was suggested that I try a pain management (PM) specialist.”
“She is very knowledgeable- I have (had) long covid and it took a toll on my immune system and it went into Epstein Barr virus.”
“Her support staff also is very understanding of insurance protocol and very thorough in explaining everything insurance related.”
“Although an entirely different feeling than acupuncture, it was truly a relaxing experience that I plan to try again!”
“She helped immensely when I was recovering from rotator surgery and cut my recovery time substantially along with easing my pain from the surgery.”
From the reviews
I've been an acupuncture patient at Olson Acupuncture Group for 12½ years, and recently tried a 30 minute cupping session with Ingrid Bloom. Having had only brief exposure to cupping in my acupuncture sessions, I wasn't sure quite what to expect.
I have been seeing Amy on and off for about 15 years. I heard once from a older and wise acupuncturist that it takes a long time to understand Chinese Medicine and become proficient at it. I trust Amy's vast understanding and experience.
After chronic pain, two nerve blocks that did not help, and physical therapy, it was suggested that I try a pain management (PM) specialist. The PM specialist recommended acupuncture. I figured I had nothing to lose so I gave acupuncture a try for the arthritis in my cervical spine.
Olson Acupuncture Group is awesome! I love Amy but have also used Sarah and Faith. They are all gifted healers and seem to appear available on the schedule with their special skills when I need them. I have used acupuncture to aide in healing of a long term bout of pneumonia.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
