From the reviews

I had just moved here from San Diego and was struggling to find a decent massage therapist out here that could do a dry, lotion free heavy pressure massage with deep tissue manipulation.

Chris is the BEST. I’ve been seeing Chris for massage and cupping, and I can honestly say he’s one of the best. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to explain what he’s doing and why, which really helped me feel comfortable.

After 5 months of training for my 1st marathon I got a foot injury from an ill fitting arch brace. Booooo. I was 3 weeks from the race, limping for over a week & devastated I couldn't run. I searched online & through doctors for someone who could see me, & was SO lucky to have found Chris at NuBody LA.

I work an office job that has me sitting 40 plus hours a week and over time I developed a lot of tension and deep muscle knots in my upper back. I decided to book a session with Chris and I’m genuinely glad I did.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
