I have been with New Steps Physical Therapy since May 2025. I initially attempted to receive services at another location, but they no longer accepted my insurance. After searching online, I found New Steps PT — and I’m so grateful I did. Kadeem is an excellent therapist.
I was very nervous coming in. I wasn’t sure what to expect. My first time. When I came in the receptionist greeted me with a warm smile and was very nice and patient as she helped me fill out my paperwork.
Kadeem has given me my life back again. After being kicked in the back during an mma spar, I had 2 herniated discs and sciatica set in on my right leg. After seeing 2 orthopedic surgeons and a spine doctor, I was told to try physical therapy.
As a woman who is very independent, hurting my back put me in a very awkward position of not being able to work or do even simple tasks, it went on for 3 weeks before I started physical therapy with Kadeem & his team, I couldn't have found a better place!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
