I had an incredible experience with Joe during my acupuncture and cupping session! Ive been dealing with chronic pain for a while, and after just one appointment, I felt such a noticeable difference. Joe took the time to really understand my concerns and tailored the session to target my specific areas of discomfort.
I’ve had chronic right shoulder impingement for 8 yrs due to car accident, did pt, do yoga every day massages 2x a month but just 1 acu/cup session with Joe and I was able to turn my head again with no pain.
I had a great experience at My Pure Acupuncture. I was apprehensive about having acupuncture for the first time, but Joey was wonderful. He put me at ease and made for a very relaxing environment. He takes his time with his patients to understand the cause of their treatment.
Had pinch nerve in neck and shoulder issues. After two mri and surgery recs I decided to try acupuncture. Joe also added cupping. 2 treatments 4 days apart and I have def seen improvement. 10 days in and neck doesn’t hurt when I wake up. Look forward to additional therapy.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
