From the reviews

After a disastrous wrestling match left me feeling broken and doubtful about ever getting back on the mat, I turned to Mountain Land Therapy — and I’m beyond grateful that I did. From day one, their team treated me not just as a patient, but as a partner in recovery.

This team is phenomenal!!! I don’t want to stop going because I feel like they’ve become my friends. Jess stuns me with her radiant smile! And when I call the office I can feel her smile over the phon because she is so happy. She makes every appointment better because of her warm welcome to everyone that comes in.

I was referred to Sam because of his experience as a runner, and at the time I was struggling with Achilles issues. I had been injured while training for an ultramarathon and was worried I wouldn’t be able to continue training or reach my goal. From day one, Sam was incredible.

★★★★★ — Brent, Jun 2025

Sam Metz is an exceptional physical therapist who has truly transformed my recovery journey! After struggling with a severe knee injury and nagging shoulder issues, I couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
