I first met Justin at Thursday Fest around 2018, where he was offering free acupuncture treatments. At the time, I had been dealing with persistent neck pain from a car accident a few years earlier. I had already tried chiropractic care, physical therapy, and even consulted a neurosurgeon.
I can’t explain how grateful I am to have found Dr. Justin Green and Montana Wellness, the relief it has brought to me and my family. When I started, I had chronic pain in my back and neck, along with chronic migraines.
I have suffered for years with tightness in my upper shoulders and neck. Before starting with Justin over three years ago I have tried several other treatments such as: dry needling at physical therapy, chiropractic and deep tissue massage therapy.
I went to Justin at Montana Acupuncture and wellness originally for my level Ii dysphasia. I had 6 treatments of Neuropuncture and felt that it had helped my problem. I then had acupuncture with cupping on both of my knees. I had previous surgery on my left knee but still had pain and limited movement.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
