From the reviews

Dr. Chapa is a miracle worker! I've gone for stress, shoulder pain, and allergies. Will continue to return for cupping, laser acupuncture, and herbs. :)

I suffered with hip pain for years and went to several doctors. They tried shots, therapy, and pain medicine. Nothing helped! Two doctors wanted to do surgery not knowing what was wrong. I turned to acupuncture and after the research I did and reading about Dr. Chapa decided to give him a try.

★★★★★ — Karen, Dec 2018

Four years ago I was taking multiple prescription meds daily for allergies. Since my treatments with Dr. Chapa, I no longer need any prescription meds. I now see him as part of my recovery therapy from rotator cuff surgery. He's an amazing doctor with a great bedside manner. He pays attention and listens.

★★★★★ — Jennifer, Mar 2016

Dr. Chapa is great. He has helped me tremendously with sciatic nerve, headaches, fatigue and a thyroid problem. His knowledge on Chinese medicine is great! I would walk in in pain or so tired by the time my session was over I felt new again.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
