From the reviews
I have been seeing Mike McClure for acupuncture for almost a year to treat my chronic neck pain and he has helped me immensely. He is able to direct treatment to any specific area that is bothersome to me. He uses a combination of needling and cupping in my treatment plan. He makes scheduling easy.
I've been to a few Acupuncture practitioners through the years and I must say McClure Acupuncture has been my most wholesome treatment experience. Michael is very professional and his knowledge of both herbology, Acupuncture, cupping, etc. is unmatched.
This works for me! I receive acupuncture and cupping treatments from Mike McClure of McClure Acupuncture primarily for pain management following a car accident. Prior to my first treatment, my doctor and I tried many avenues to relieve my chronic pain, and nothing seemed to work...
I have had excellent results. Before I started getting acupuncture I had a lot of colitis and diverticulitis as was determined by a colonoscopy. I experienced a lot of pain and bowel incontinence. I was taking a lot of medication that only lessened the symptoms.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
