This was my first cupping appointment in an attempt to get rid of a recurring shoulder injury. I was wildly impressed with Melissa's vast knowledge and experience. Her ability to communicate what she was doing and what she was able to navigate through our appointment.
I cannot tell you how much Melissa and Michael have changed my life literally! I have gone to MassageFIX for about 2½ years. I had a stroke and they have done wonders for my body! Because of my stroke I have lost feeling on the whole right side of my body.
I stopped in to get some information to see if they offer Thai massage. They don't but I was recommended to a place that offers something very similar to the Thai massage. If you never had a Thai massage I highly recommend it it's a combination of a yoga instructor a chiropractor and a masseuse all rolled up in one.
I should have bought a lottery ticket! I am from South Dakota. My reason for being in Bowling Green was a dog show. I am not sure exactly what I did to my ankle but boy did it hurt. What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
