From the reviews
As I get a little older managing the myriad of pains gets quite complicated. I have had muscle and joint pains that a year ago prevented me from playing golf among other things. Sanctum Therapy was recommended by my physical therapy instructor.
Having grown up with a disability that requires the help of crutches to walk, my shoulders, back, and elbows have developed issues that Dr's had only prescribed medications for. Jenna Levy with Sanctum Therapy had such amazing knowledge of both my condition and how to help relieve my joints through message therapy.
Sami is the absolute best. I've been to many different massage therapists, but her skillset is top-notch. She listens carefully to your needs and knows how to get to the root of the pain or tightness. Her space is always clean, comfortable and serene.
My husband and I have been seeing Sami for the past four years. Sami is an amazing therapist. She listens with her ears, hands and heart and is very intuitive. She has a calming presence, is professional and caring and always willing to share her knowledge.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
