From the reviews

I am an athlete who originally started seeing Michael to help with muscle tension that traditional massage would not alleviate. Through use of his ART techniques, he had me back performing at a high level in no time.

★★★★★ — Scott, Jun 2019

I've had my son treated by Michael numerous times. From toddler to his present age of 7. And I couldn't ask for a better experience. Relaxed. Patient. Thorough and playful. He has treated my son with herbs for sinus, cough and hyperactivity issues. All which are no longer a problem.

★★★★★ — Peter, Aug 2019

Dr. Michael Woodworth has been a lifesaver for me in the past year. As a brazilian jiu-jitsu athlete I experience a lot of daily aches and pains but one particular chronic bulging disc issue in my neck has been giving me problems for a few years.

★★★★★ — Jeremy, Sep 2020

Mike is a true healer. I have not come across a practitioner that has so many tools and so much knowledge at his disposal. From active release technique (art), acupuncture, orthopedic “dry-needling” acupuncture, and herbal medicine. I highly recommend going to see him.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
