Why Lymphedema Therapy Source is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “serting fine needles into specific points on the body (up to two inches deep into skin) to stimulate biochemical reactions, while moxibustion uses heat from burning mugwort to warm acupuncture points. From the reviews
Great experience. This establishment serves homebound patients and it's nice not to have to go to a clinic if you need the therapy, whether you are homebound or not. My understanding is that there is office space available if this is not your preference, but with COVID about, why not stay home?
I've had Primary Lymphedema, in my legs, for about 20 years, and had a Lymphedema Therapist who runs a clinic employing about 6 additional Lymphedema and Hand Therapists.
Today I found out I have Lipedema and met Occupational Therapist Rebecca Summers and my life will forever be changed. After making several doctor visits month after month to determine was going on with my leg wasting Copays to be told I need to go back to primary. That was even unsuccessful.
I highly recommend Rebecca S. Lymphedema therapist. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional and above all caring. My lymphedema concerns have been addressed. The swelling is in control through therapy and compression.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
