From the reviews

I have been going to Lucas Therapies since mid July for a work related injury to my knee. The team has been absolutely phenomenal. They were understanding when my sessions had to be put on hold while some paperwork got sorted out & they never once make me feel bad.

★★★★★ — Kaitlyn, Aug 2024

The therapists at Lucas Physical Therapy in Salem knew exactly what to do to help me feel better. They gave me exercises that challenged me and they progressed in difficulty as I got stronger. I like that they gave me a written home exercise program early in my treatment.

★★★★★ — Linda, Feb 2025

I’ve been at Lucas Therapies for at least a couple months now, and my experience has been great ! I needed to start in the pool, which Lucas has at the Knot break location. Fortunately for me I got Eleanor as my therapist.

★★★★★ — Rosemary, Sep 2024

After recent shoulder surgery I was put in the care of Kevin and Eleanor of Lucas Therapies for physical therapy. My experience from check-in to therapy sessions was Top Notch!! The staff was punctual, professional, and kept me active the entire session.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
