From the reviews

Over the last six weeks I have started receiving Acupuncture care at Live Oak from Lauren. I have to say it’s one of the best decisions that I’ve made for myself as of recently. Last year I received surgery for a torn shoulder labrum and the recovery has been a bit slow.

Have headaches so went to Lauren for acupuncture. Acupuncture doesnt hurt at all. It makes u relax like massage. My headache went away with treatment. She is so kind, intelligent, and enthusiastic about her job. If she suggests example, supplement she gives u info about it and best type and wear to buy.

I've seen Lauren at Live Oak Health several times now for acupuncture therapy. She really takes the time to address your concerns and customize a treatment tailored to your needs. The results for me personally have been great! I leave feeling rejuvenated and I'm reaching my goals.

I started acupuncture with Lauren earlier this year. She was friendly and welcoming right from the start! She is knowledgeable with massage therapy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, etc. At each appointment, she completes a check-in to see how the acupuncture is helping and if we need to switch anything up.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
