From the reviews
I'm a barber and rely on my arms and hands to make my living. By the end of my shift yesterday, I could barely lift my arm and my hand was numb. All the muscles in between were hard as a rock and not very responsive. The pain was an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10.
I couldn't be happier with my experience with my wellness therapist Mike, he has helped me so much. I came to lifestream wellness with extreme chronic pain and willing to try anything, Mike has taken the time to research different techniques and advised me with new information to help with my pain.
I am very happy with my care at Lifestream Wellness. Kate continues to amaze me at what she does and I feel so much compassion in her work. I look forward to all my appointments as I’m finally getting relief for my back pain. Thank you!
I appreciate Jean and Mike's knowledge of their work and how they share it to fit your needs. My need has been acupuncture. Thank you for helping and supporting me!!! It has made a world of difference in my care. Thank You.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Lifestream Wellness Acupuncture & Integrative Health Clinic
Lifestream Wellness Acupuncture & Integrative Health Clinic comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
