From the reviews

I've been curious about acupuncture for years but was always nervous to try it. I decided to check out Acupuncture to the People because I liked Katy's holistic approach to care and healing and felt I could trust her with my treatment. My session was so great and informative - I only wish I had started sooner!!

★★★★★ — Laura, Jun 2021

I've been an avid swimmer for over 20 years, and recently, I suffered a minor injury in my lower back, accompanied by a pinched nerve. Seeking relief and recovery, I turned to Katy for her expertise in acupuncture. The combination of needles, cupping, and electricity under her guidance brought remarkable improvement.

★★★★★ — Ana, Jan 2024

Katy is a true acupuncture expert! Among all of the acupuncture practitioners that I have tried, Katy has been the only person that solved my complex muscle and nerve issues. Katy took a holistic approach to treating the root causes rather than just the symptoms of neck pain.

★★★★★ — Abbey, Dec 2022

I have seen many acupuncturists over the years and Katy by far has helped me the most. I have chronic pain from fibromyalgia and her treatments leave me feeling so much better each time. Katy genuinely cares about her patients and she truly just wants to help them feel better.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
