From the reviews

In one session Joy was able to correct all my aches and tightness issues that months of physical therapy and orthopedic doctor visits didn't. If you're having neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain or all three....make an appt with Joy. Her knowledge of body mechanics can relieve it and get rid of it all together.

I have been going to Oasis Day Spa for a year. I had chronic neck pain and headaches for many years and went to a few different chiropractors, physical therapy, and massage. I thought that I was going to have to live in pain for the rest of my life.

Joy is a gift to the world of massage and healing. I'm in my mid 40's and have had massages throughout my entire adult life. My body has never had such a positive response to massage, until I met Joy. I tell her and share with others that she has magical hands.

I have been a client of Joy’s for over 5 years. I had limited range of motion in the hips, she quickly realized it was not all muscular and suggested I see my doctor. After hip replacement surgery she was a big part of my recovery.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
