From the reviews

John is a true master of his practice. He uses a combination of techniques to achieve the best results for his clients. My last massage was a combination of Swedish massage, reflexology, and sports massage. He used hot stones, aromatherapy, and cupping techniques to work through my muscle tension.

I am new to the Triangle area and I have been receiving massage for over 25 years now. I have to say I searched online since March and finally found my massage therapist. I went to John with achy feet, shoulders were tight a slight headache. This was all gone and still feeling good days later.

A++ massage and service! Everything was well thought down to every last detail. He is very knowledgeable about muscle groups and anatomy which is very reassuring since I was going in with a strained muscle. He checked in with me throughout to make sure I was comfortable, which was really nice.

I've been seeing John for over five years now and I, 100%, enthusiastically, recommend him. He genuinely cares about his clients and tailors each session to individual needs.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
