Why Jiva Wellness Institute is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “at what you need that day. For this massage, a client will undress down to their comfort level and be covered by a sheet and blanket at all times except for whatever area is being treated, which will be draped modestly. From the reviews
Kieran is a body saver! Those hands of hers can get in deep or light but I like those knots really getting beaten up! She is a good price, makes me feel warm and comfortable, everytime!
Kieran is an excellent massage therapist with a great little space in West Seattle. Now that the bridge is open it's so easy to get to! I'm an Esthetician (a physically demanding job) and need regular massage/body work, and Kieran is one of the few I trust. She regularly uses cupping on me too, which I am a fan of.
Kieran has managed to work magic on my shoulder/back multiple times. I work a very physical job and do powerlifting as my main hobby so my body is often pushed pretty hard but her massages keep me feeling fresh.
Wow, just received one of the best massages ever from Kieran. I’ve started working out again and my muscles were sore! Kieran was intuitive and massaged me at just the right pressure. Left feeling amazing 🫠😇 and the cupping was neat! Never done that before and highly recommend!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
