I went to Meredith in pain. Lots of stress and lack of rest caused a pounding ache behind my eye, tightness and pain in my neck and shoulders in addition to my sciatica and Achilles tendonitis.
My fiancé and I took Meredith’s couples massage workshop this past weekend and it was great! She provided a good amount of individual support to each couple and even answered some more in-depth questions for us about body mechanics.
Meredith is amazing and I highly recommend her. She really listens to your specific needs and welcomes feedback on what works best for you, developing a treatment plan or technique that hones in on the trouble spots. She is extremely knowledgeable and provides suggestions and tips for outside of her care.
Amazing. Meredith was such a kind and beautiful human. She is able to access areas in such finite tune with your body’s needs. Wow. Go find out yourself! I am a former athlete and did tons of physical labor in my lifetime which has ruined my body and have had 7 orthopedic surgeries over the past 20 years.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
