My husband surprised me in my third trimester with a massage. Very very very awesome massage. He booked a 60 minute maternity massage to try it out and now I wish I booked the 90 minute. Her patience was great, very informative and precise. The space was relaxing and therapeutic.
August was amazing. I’ve received many massages and this is by far the best one I’ve gotten. I struggle with a lot of tension and she hit every area in my body that needed work. I left feeling extremely light. I haven’t felt this relaxed in so long. I will definitely be returning and recommending her to EVERYONE.
So grateful my husband booked me a Swedish massage with August at Innovative Body Works! Was having a little muscle stiffness / soreness in neck and right shoulder area that she helped work out but also I didn’t realize how much I needed it for my whole body.
My massage was amazing! August was able to get to my normally painful areas without me feeling like it was too much to handle. I’ve never had a therapist that was able to do that. Any other time it’s been painful in my lower back area that’s very sensitive.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
