From the reviews
I absolutely love Lisa and her work. I've gone in with excruciating neck pain and headache and left pain free. I've had my period off balance and had it restored. I've been angry and left calm. I've had digestive issues and even a rash and she has helped them ease and calm down.
I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and the doctor recommended accupuncture. I had done accupuncture in the past and had developed a fear of it because past practitioners felt too aggressive and the needles hurt. When I went to see Lisa, I explained my hesitations and sensitivities and she heard me and responded.
I had been struggling with vertigo for a month when my friend referred me to Lisa, an acupuncturist. Initially, I was skeptical but excited for my appointment. Lisa conducted a complete and thorough evaluation of my medical history, aches, and pains before proceeding with cupping and acupuncture.
I've been a client of Lisa's since 2008 and she has helped me fix my body countless times. I consider her my secret weapon for all injuries large and small. She is who I turn to when other medical interventions aren't working.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
