Why Hwang Acupuncture PC is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “ch gives the body’s enough time to rebalance. Patients are usually in a very relaxed state and even fall asleep. Although most feel relief right after the treatment, the benefits peak between 48 and 72 hours afterwards. Cupping Cupping is…” source →

From the reviews
I initially approached Hwang Acupuncture with a fair amount of skepticism about acupuncture in general. However, given that Hwang accepts most insurance plans, I decided to give it a try. From the outset, I found Hwang to be incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and excellent at communication.
Dr. & Dr. Hwang are THE best acupuncturists on Long Island & beyond. Mr. specializes in chronic pain and acute conditions, while Madame can perform an acupuncture facelift that can sincerely take years off your look; bring back vibrancy, firmness and help with wrinkles and balance. They are also very wonderful people.
Jim Hwang is amazing! He is an incredibly knowledgeable and skilled acupuncturist. He has treated me for several aliments including achilles tendonitis, blood sugar issues, sinus trouble and back/hip pain. Jim Hwang will listen to your concerns and make the best treatment plan!
I had some doubts about the effectiveness of acupuncture, but after visiting Hwang Acupuncture this time and experiencing significant improvement, I now plan to go regularly for treatment. I strongly recommend anyone with back pain or other types of pain (excluding severe conditions requiring surgery) to give it a try.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
