From the reviews
Actually, all the Therapists in this clinic are very professional. Especially, Angel Liu (Hongxia) is extremely good at Tuina skills, cupping and scraping. Suffering from my shoulder pain for months and fortunately I knew her for more than 10 years, I ask for help from this clinic.
I have known this clinic for a long time, I think it has been more than three years. When I first time have visited it, I totally was impressed by their professional and medical massage, acupuncture and cupping. Then I have visited it very frequently due wo I have frozen shoulder and stiff neck.
This is one of the best Chinese medical clinics I have ever visited. The staff are very friendly that makes the entire process much smoother and easier. I had very bad fall 2.5 years ago and tore 2 of 4 tendons of my right shoulder rotating cuff. I went through PT ~6 months and recovered ~80%.
I came to Hongwei clinic for my hip and neck problems. I was so much in pain that I have to give up running, but Hongxia, the owner was my savior. She is very professional, good at identifying my problem area and apply her hand technique, she also combined other methods such as suction cupping, acupuncture or massage…
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
