This is a long review. HealthQuest on Schoenherr Rd in Warren, Michigan, is hands down the best physical therapy clinic I’ve ever experienced. From the moment you walk through the door, the staff makes you feel welcomed and cared for.
I just completed several sessions of physical therapy for painful tendonitis in my left forearm that really limited my use of that arm. I wish all my dealings with the medical community were as pleasant and productive as the treatment I received from the people at this facility.
I had a fantastic experience with my shoulder therapy sessions with Carley. She was incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in addressing my specific needs. Carley created a comfortable and encouraging atmosphere, and I felt she truly listened to my concerns.
After spraining my knee and tearing the meniscus my doctor sent me to Health Quest for therapy. Everyone was friendly and helpful, they also accommodated me when I experienced any pain and changed my exercises accordingly.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
