From the reviews
Honestly, I was a bit skeptical about the benefits of Acupuncture, acupressure and cupping. The VA recommended I seek this treatment as an alternative to the narcotics I've been off and on taking for the last 18 months. I'm seeing positive results just after my second visit.
Personally, this is the one of the only legit place in the Northern, Va area for acupuncture. Dr. Sun is so caring and sweet and professional. I went in with bad carpel tunnel and a few sessions later, I was already better. It’s been 3 months and I’m almost back at 100%.
This location is great. From the beginning they made us feel very comfortable. The doctors and practitioners are very knowledgeable and have given us all kinds of wellness advice to improve our health. Their office is always clean and welcoming, with plenty of parking and with very easy access to the highway.
My first interaction was the call to the office. Sunny answered the phone on my call and was a wonderful listener and very intuitive. She understood immediately my very complex issues and I scheduled my appointment.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Health Healing Hands Acupuncture Clinic
Health Healing Hands Acupuncture Clinic comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — ask whether that can be arranged. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
