From the reviews
I've been seeing Dr. Dustin for about two months now, and the progress I've made during that time has been greater than what I experienced with over a year of physical therapy elsewhere. What sets him apart is how carefully he listens.
As an aging former athlete, got sedentary over the years. Grit Performance under Dustin's leadership has been a blessing. I began going to Dustin for hip pain because I had made many attempts to get back into physical activities with injuries, arthritis in the hips and a piriformis muscle injury.
I came in with a shoulder issue that came on gradually, and after a month of my own with no improvement, came to get treated by Dustin. He was very upfront about the kind of issues I may have and about how long recovery would take.
I can't say enough good things about my experience with Dustin as my physical therapist. I have been seeing him for a month now for knee pain. From the very first appointment, he took the time to listen to my concerns and understand my specific goals.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
