From the reviews
An authentic testimonial here. I have seen chiropractors before and my experiences have always been transactional. I came to Great Lakes Health & Wellness OHC out of desperation because of the pain I was having in my body and jaw. My job can be high stress and as we know, that’s never going to end well.
I started coming to Great Lakes in March to investigate some long time unresolved issues in my back from dance. They have been nothing but friendly, accomodating and helpful. I have experienced so much relief and learned what tools I need to support my spine health at home too.
Love Great Lakes. Every member of the team is welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. Overall, my knowledge in holistic wellness & my personal physical health has only increased. Thanks to Dr. Andy who does an incredible job with my adjustments & educating me on the why behind it all.
Front desk was very kind, courteous, and professional. Dr. Bey was very knowledgeable, professional and efficient. He explained what was going on very well, answered any questions I may have had immediately. The establishment is extremely clean and organized.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
