As a 68 year old male I was diagnosed with bone spurs from C3 - C7 and was experiencing lightheadedness and severe tension in neck and back of head to the point that trying to turn my head was painful. After trying other options with no success I thought I would try acupuncture and cupping.
After struggling with secondary infertility x 2.5 years and working with another acupuncturist in town, I only had 4 failed IUIs, 1 cancelled IVF cycle, and 1 failed FET to show for it. I had one remaining embryo left to transfer, so I decided to start fresh with Dr. Jing Gong at Grace Family Acupuncture.
I’ve been coming to Grace Acupuncture to see Dr. Gong for the past month or so have a really loved the experience. I’ve always been a fan of acupuncture so when some stress and insomnia stuff started showing up I decided to start it again.
I can’t say enough good things about this acupuncture office. Years ago, Dr. Grace treated me for other ailments, and now, 8 years later, I’m back and had the pleasure of being treated by her daughter, Dr. Jing. What an amazing family. They are kind, trustworthy, and truly care about their patients.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
