Why Georgia Physical Therapy is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “ab, craniosacral therapy, post-surgical rehab, and treatment to sprains, strains, fractures, disc herniation and more. We use modalities including ultrasound, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilizations, dry needling, cupping, and…” source →

From the reviews

There is no one else other than Carolyn Weber with Georgia PT, whom I would rather have worked with to get myself physically and mentally through one of the roughest chapters of my life. She is a honest, skillful, knowledgeable and kind worker both in her craft as a PT and as a person.

I started seeing Carolyn for what I thought was tennis elbow. After an initial evaluation, I realized that my elbow pain was from other structural mechanics that needed conditioning/strengthening. She provided effective at-home exercises that helped to quickly ease the pain in my elbow and work on postural strength.

During my care at Georgia Physical Therapy, I worked with Carolyn Weber who helped me recover from vocal cord dysfunction. Her care was so thorough and helped me get back to playing my sports breathing comfortable. My treatment plan was thorough and more than helpful.

Thank you so much, Essex physical therapy. Kelsey Doe was a fantastic physical therapist that I had the pleasure to work with for four months. She got me through physical therapy for a knee replacement and would love to give her 10 stars on a 5 star rating. Appreciate all the things you’ve done for me. Go Bengals!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
