What clients say about the cupping here
“Living with chronic back pain from sciatica, herniated disks and stenosis the pain level was always at 3 and would be as high as 8 if I did anything .”
“I always feel so relaxed after leaving, except one treatment left me so energized I couldn't fall asleep that night.”
From the reviews
I've gone for various reasons. Most times, it's because I hurt myself renovating my house. After treatment, the swelling went way down, almost miraculous. Another time, I hurt my ribs. I didn't break them, but almost, and the muscles around kept spasming. That made it difficult for me to breath.
Acupuncture took away my pain in the lower back and knee, and much of my stiffness, and massage helped with the rest. I am 63 and now I feel younger. Shunwei Wang did an excellent job, and so does Mallory the masseuse. Highly recommended.
The owner Shawn is fantastic at his craft and really cares about helping his clients feel better. I highly recommend Free Spirit Acupuncture for those looking for a more natural route to pain relief.
I came to Free Spirit to get acupuncture to treat (extreme) motion sickness. I was going on a cruise, and I really didn't want to be sick. I had THE most amazing vacation and I didn't get motion sick even once.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
