…Jayne is incredibly knowledgeable about acupuncture, cupping, red light therapy, etc. and treats her patients with such kindness and care. I'm always greeted with a smile when I walk through the door and I really appreciate the relaxing environment that she has fostered.

★★★★★ — Karina, Mar 2024

…Forbes for about a year now, and her acupuncture and cupping treatments have worked wonders for me. No amount of stretching or PT was relieving my extra tight muscles and the other discomforts they caused (i.e., headaches, back pain, rib pain, etc.), but Jayne has made a huge difference.

★★★★★ — Kristen, Mar 2024

I have been receiving acupuncture and cupping treatments with Jayne for 2 years now. She has such a calming nature. She manages to target all my specific needs. She has helped greatly with relieving both muscle pain and stress. I highly recommend Dr. Forbes!

★★★★★ — Meredith, Mar 2024

Dr. Jayne Forbes easily translates medical information to inform and educate her patients. At a time when many physicians push pills and fail to have a cohesive discussion with their patients, Dr. Forbes is a breath of fresh air.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
