Just wanted to say thank you to Essential Acupuncture LLC and April for helping me with my back pain! I came in for acupuncture and did a few needles but it wasn’t my thing. I came to find out I love the suction cups and after just 1 session my back feels much better.
Wow!!! Need I say more. I went to April to help me control my stress and severe anxiety. I don't really like taking meds and I haven't found any other means to alleviate my anxiety. Going to the gym is great, but helps temporarily and for a short time.
The attitude, compassion and skill that April brings to healing is extraordinary! I decided to try acupuncture for my anxiety and am thrilled with the results. I love the way April talks with me to understand my emotional and physical state and then formulates a treatment that always brings relief.
Well….I had shingles earlier in the year and it was bad! Ever since I had nerve pain and damage on my left side. I went through MRI/XRays and all was clear. They wanted to put me on a strong meds which I was against, due to my job. I even had an epidural. Which did not really help.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
