The ambience at Elysiumassage is calming to the soul. I been seeing Ben Lockett for over 16 years. Ben has healing hands. My body has been through two major traumas. One of my traumas was 16 years ago. Freak accident on my way to work and life altering changes after being struck by a 5000 pound piece of construction.
Ben Lockett, owner of Elysium massage, has been a blessing and lifesaver to this aging body of mine. Due to the major surgery I developed a lot of neck, shoulder, arm and back pain and muscle stiffness. Ben knew exactly how to deal with my stiffness and pain.
A small office with a big heart. Everyone is kind and inviting. Pam is incredibly knowledgeable and truly skilled at pain management. She takes the time to listen, understand your concerns, and tailors each session to your specific needs. I always leave feeling better.
Ben was amazing! I lost my massage therapist because of a business closing, and I'm not going to lie I had high expectations because of how great my other massages have been. But Ben exceeding my expectations. Definitely was what I needed! Highly highly recommend!!! I will be coming back!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
