I’m don’t usually write reviews but this place warranted a few minutes of my time. I recently moved to the high dessert area from San Diego and needed a place to provide quality recovery!
This was my first time at Elixir of Health. I met Karen and she was extremely helpful and thorough with getting me familiar and comfortable learning about all the benefits Elixir of Health has to offer. I was a little nervous going in because my body is sensitive to many things.
I had an amazing experience at this place. The staff was welcoming and professional from the moment I walked in. The environment was calm, clean, and really helped me relax. My therapist listened to my needs and focused on the areas that needed attention most.
I am on my feet 8 hours a day. I am a massage therapist and a true believer in holistic healing. I had received a gift card and decided to try the Ionic Foot Bath for the first time. After 30 minutes my body felt so relaxed and the toxins were so dark in the water. Overall I feel a big difference already.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
