I’ve gone to Mayumi for over 7 years and drive 35 miles to do so. Attention to where I need focus is key for me due to a previous car accident. Hot stones, cupping, rollers and aromatherapy as well are a bonus!
They had same day availability on a Sunday which alone is worth 5 stars! I had an extremely sore neck to the point I couldn’t move my arm over my head or turn my neck, they were able to work quite a bit of my issue out and had me on my way feeling so much better in 45 minutes!
Today I walk in without appointment ! And Mayumi help me with that I have had lots of pain on my left shoulder and tension in my left back, and I left feeling lots of stress lifted.The environment is calm and relaxed. Everything is very clean and ready.They take their time and provide an excellent experience.
Highly recommend! I was not only relaxed, but educated on how to care for myself going forward!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
